The Harley-Davidson XR1200RR Sportster by Shaw Speed & Custom takes the XR1200’s
road-going silhouette in a distinctly race-oriented direction. Its green, white
and black livery, number 7 graphics and compact tail section establish the theme
immediately, while the exposed hardware and broad tyres give the motorcycle a serious
track-bike stance.

## A sharper XR1200 profile

The visual transformation begins at the front. A small black fairing surrounds the
headlamp and instrument area, with a flat number-board treatment that replaces the
standard roadster’s open, upright appearance. The wide handlebar remains prominent,
but the shortened visual line from the tank to the front axle makes the bike look
more focused and purposeful.

At the rear, the seat flows into a raised, angular tail unit carrying the large
yellow-and-black number 7. That bodywork is more than decoration: it visually lifts
the back of the motorcycle and creates a clear racing reference without hiding the
twin-cylinder engine. The bright green side panels continue the tank and tail graphics,
giving the otherwise black chassis a strong horizontal line.

## Hardware kept in view

Shaw Speed & Custom has left much of the mechanical character on display. The air-
cooled V-twin remains the centre of the composition, framed by a dark lower section
and a visibly converted chain-drive layout. Carbon-fibre-looking panels sit around
the engine and under the seat, adding texture without overwhelming the metal surfaces.

The rear suspension uses twin piggyback-reservoir units, finished in a contrasting
yellow that echoes the graphics. Up front, the fork legs and brake hardware are
presented as functional focal points rather than concealed details. The motorcycle
also wears wide, low-profile tyres on black cast wheels, reinforcing its intended
sporting posture.

## Race influence in the details

The most distinctive detail is the high-mounted exhaust arrangement. Two large carbon-
bodied silencers rise beside the tail, leaving the rear wheel and swingarm clearly
visible from the left side. Their position changes the bike’s balance visually:
instead of a low cruiser-style exhaust line, the eye follows the pipes upward into
the tail section.

From the rear, the compact bodywork, exposed suspension and broad tyre give the
XR1200RR a much narrower upper profile than its aggressive stance suggests. From
the front, the number board and fork-mounted graphics make the bike read as a competition-
inspired custom rather than a conventional Sportster with cosmetic changes.

## A focused custom interpretation

The XR1200RR’s appeal is its disciplined visual language. Green paint, race numbers
and sponsor-style markings supply the period competition mood, while the suspension,
braking and exhaust details provide the substance needed to support it. It is an
assertive reinterpretation of the XR1200 Sportster—compact, mechanical and unmistakably
built around a sporting brief.
