Scorpion Trikes’ Harley-Davidson V-Rod conversion changes the motorcycle’s visual
and mechanical focus in one decisive move: the single front wheel becomes a wide,
two-wheel assembly. The result is a reverse trike with a low, planted stance, independent
front suspension and bodywork designed to look integrated with the V-Rod rather
than bolted onto it.

## A wider front end with a deliberate design

The conversion’s most obvious feature is its pair of large front wheels, each enclosed
by a smoothly shaped black fender. Their broad proportions dominate the front three-
quarter view, while red rim accents echo the striping on the V-Rod’s tank and rear
bodywork. That detail helps connect the added hardware to the original motorcycle’s
styling.

Between the wheels, the exposed suspension and steering components give the front
end a purposeful mechanical character. The fenders conceal much of the structure
from the side, but the photographs still show the suspension arms, springs and braking
hardware working within the widened layout. At the rear, the V-Rod silhouette remains
recognizable, including its solo-style stepped seat, exposed frame area and twin
exhaust outlets.

## Designed around the V-Rod

According to Scorpion Trikes, the kit was developed specifically for the V-Rod.
The company said its system required no frame modifications and included the main
components needed to create the two-wheel front end. A model-specific approach matters
here: the conversion follows the V-Rod’s existing tank, frame and engine proportions
instead of treating the motorcycle as a universal donor.

The finished appearance is especially effective from the rear three-quarter angle.
The front wheels add width without turning the motorcycle into a separate-looking
vehicle, while the original rear wheel and belt-drive layout preserve the V-Rod
identity. Gloss-black paint, polished suspension pieces and the red detailing provide
most of the visual contrast.

## Kit claims and availability

Scorpion Trikes described the conversion as a DIY installation that could be completed
in an afternoon, with few additional parts beyond those supplied in the kit. The
company also stated that some parts would need to be purchased separately through
a Harley-Davidson dealership.

At the time of the original report, Scorpion Trikes expected the kit to cost about
$5,000 before shipping and installation. That was a projected price rather than
a current retail figure, and the source also described future versions for Harley-
Davidson touring motorcycles with FL frames. Neither that estimate nor those plans
should be read as confirmation of present-day availability.
