# Custom Harley-Davidson Road Glide Standard with a 26-Inch Front Wheel

A towering front wheel, olive-green bodywork, and a brown diamond-stitched seat
give this custom Harley-Davidson Road Glide Standard a distinctive presence. Built
around the big-wheel bagger look, it combines an oversized front end with extended
saddlebags that bring the rear bodywork almost down to the pavement.

The wheel grabs your attention first, but the relationship between the colors, finishes,
and bodywork makes this motorcycle worth a closer look.

## A 26-Inch Wheel That Defines the Profile

The 26-inch front wheel is the centerpiece of this Road Glide. Its sweeping spokes
combine bright machined-looking surfaces with dark recesses, creating a pattern
that stands out against the green front fender. A thin band of tire leaves much
of the wheel exposed, emphasizing its diameter.

The closely fitted fender follows the tire’s upper curve without hiding the wheel
design. Above it, the substantial fairing gives the front end enough visual weight
to balance that oversized rim.

Viewed from the side, the contrast is striking: an open, intricate wheel at the
front and broad, uninterrupted bodywork at the rear. Those two shapes define the
motorcycle’s silhouette.

## Olive-Green Paint with Contrasting Details

The green finish gives this bagger much of its character. In the sunlight, it shifts
visually between darker olive tones and brighter gold-green highlights, drawing
attention to the curves of the tank and fairing.

Dark outlines and contrasting panel details break up the painted surfaces. They
help define the bodywork without overwhelming the overall color scheme.

Bright metal finishes on the engine, front fork, and primary cover add contrast
below the tank. The black engine fins and darker mechanical components keep those
reflective surfaces from dominating the entire build.

## A Brown Diamond-Stitched Seat

The brown seat is one of the most effective choices on this motorcycle. Its warm
color complements the green paint while standing apart from both the bodywork and
polished metal.

Diamond stitching adds texture to a build otherwise dominated by smooth surfaces.
The sculpted seat also creates a clear transition between the fuel tank and rear
bodywork, following the motorcycle’s profile rather than interrupting it.

It is a relatively small part of the overall design, but it gives the bike a recognizable
focal point beyond the front wheel.

## Extended Saddlebags and a Low Silhouette

The extended saddlebags carry the design rearward, with lower edges that sit close
to the ground in the photographed stance. Their tapered shape gives the tail a swept-
back appearance, balancing the height of the front wheel with length at the rear.

A slim red light integrated into the visible rear bodywork adds a compact accent
while preserving the broad painted surfaces.

## What Makes This Road Glide Stand Out

This custom Road Glide brings together several bold elements without losing a coherent
color palette. The wheel supplies the drama, the green bodywork ties the motorcycle
together, and the brown upholstery adds warmth and texture.

For anyone gathering custom bagger inspiration, the most interesting takeaway is
how those choices work together. The oversized wheel may be the headline feature,
but the seat, panel detailing, and extended rear bodywork give the complete build
its identity.

# Harley-Davidson XR1200TT by Shaw Speed & Custom: Racing Style in Orange and Black

### See photos at the bottom of this post.

Wrapped in orange-and-black bodywork with a bold number-three graphic, the Harley-
Davidson XR1200TT by Shaw Speed & Custom has the presence of a vintage paddock racer.
A rounded fairing, low handlebars, and sharply raised tail establish the theme,
while the exposed V-twin keeps the motorcycle’s Harley identity firmly in view.

The strongest part of the design is its balance of flowing bodywork and visible
machinery. The fairing frames the engine rather than concealing it completely, giving
the XR1200TT a muscular, mechanical center beneath its racing colors.

## A Fairing That Sets the Tone

The nose sweeps upward into a curved windscreen, then extends down into broad side
panels. From the side, those panels become the canvas for the oversized number three,
outlined in white against the orange-and-black paint.

The graphic follows the angular divisions of the lower bodywork, creating a contrast
with the rounded nose and fuel tank. XR1200TT lettering along the bottom edge finishes
the composition without competing with the number panel.

A close-fitting front fender repeats the same colors. It ties the front wheel into
the design while leaving the brake hardware and gold fork legs clearly visible.

## A Compact Tank and Sculpted Tail

Above the engine, the fuel tank carries black side panels bordered by white and
orange. Harley-Davidson lettering and a small checkerboard detail reinforce the
racing theme without covering every available surface in graphics.

The narrow black seat leads into a raised tail section bearing the Shaw Speed &
Custom name. Its upward sweep leaves plenty of open space above the rear wheel,
giving the motorcycle a lighter-looking rear profile.

That contrast is central to the build: substantial bodywork around the front, a
dense engine area in the middle, and a compact tail at the back. Each section has
a different visual weight, but the shared colors keep them connected.

## Mechanical Details Worth a Closer Look

The photographs reveal gold inverted forks, twin rear shocks with yellow springs
and external reservoirs, and drilled brake discs. A visible Brembo front caliper
adds another purposeful detail to the exposed front end.

Black wheels and a dark swingarm allow the brighter suspension components to stand
out. Meanwhile, the silver cylinder fins bring texture to the center of the motorcycle,
breaking up the surrounding black frame and engine cases.

The twin-shock layout also contributes to the overall character. It fits naturally
with the bike’s vintage racing appearance while remaining an important part of its
visible mechanical design.

## A Cockpit Built Around the Tachometer

The rider’s view carries the same theme as the exterior. A large white-faced tachometer
sits prominently behind the windscreen, accompanied by a smaller digital display.

Low handlebars flank the tank, with exposed controls and metal hardware giving the
cockpit a functional appearance. There is little visual clutter between the rider
and the instruments; the tachometer is unmistakably the focal point.

## What Makes the XR1200TT Memorable

Shaw Speed & Custom gives this Harley a clear identity through proportion, graphics,
and carefully exposed components. The number-three fairing makes an immediate impression,
but the tank detailing, raised tail, and cockpit reward a longer look.

For custom motorcycle enthusiasts drawn to racing-inspired builds, the XR1200TT
offers plenty of ideas: a restrained color palette, one dominant graphic, and bodywork
that gives the engine room to remain part of the design.

# Millepercento Scighera: A Custom Moto Guzzi with Griso 8V Power

### 󠀁[Scighera by Millepercento Photo Gallery](https://custommotorcycles.info/scighera-by-millepercento/#photogallery)󠁿

The Millepercento Scighera combines Moto Guzzi’s distinctive V-twin engine with
a custom chassis and premium running gear. Developed by Italian Moto Guzzi specialist
Millepercento, this stripped-back naked motorcycle puts its mechanical components
at the center of the design.

Following the Alba and BB1, the Scighera continues Millepercento’s approach to limited-
production motorcycles: retain the Guzzi character, then build a more individual
machine around it.

## Moto Guzzi Griso 8V Engine

At the heart of the Scighera is the 1,151 cc engine sourced from the Moto Guzzi
Griso 8V. Fuel injection, four-valve cylinder heads, and a six-speed transmission
provide the technical foundation for the build.

The prominent V-twin gives the motorcycle an unmistakable identity. In a naked design
with little bodywork to distract the eye, the engine becomes more than a power source—
it defines the motorcycle’s shape and character.

Millepercento’s approach gives that familiar engine a different setting, pairing
it with a purpose-built frame rather than relying on cosmetic changes alone.

## A Custom Frame and a Focus on Weight

The Scighera’s custom frame is one of its defining features. It forms the foundation
of a build focused on reducing bulk and keeping the motorcycle visually and mechanically
uncluttered.

Millepercento claimed a dry weight below 420 pounds, or approximately 190 kilograms.
That figure refers to dry weight rather than a fully fueled, ready-to-ride motorcycle,
but it illustrates the project’s emphasis on weight reduction.

For anyone interested in custom Moto Guzzi motorcycles, this is what makes the Scighera
particularly compelling: the transformation extends to the chassis beneath the styling.

## 24-Spoke Aluminum Wheels

Among the Scighera’s standout components are its 24-spoke aluminum wheels, designed
to accommodate tubeless tires.

The wheels bring a distinctive detail to an otherwise restrained motorcycle. On
a naked build, where the wheels, frame, and engine remain exposed, individual components
have a greater influence on the overall appearance.

Their tubeless compatibility also adds a practical element to the specification,
giving the wheel design a purpose beyond its visual appeal.

## Brembo Brakes and Öhlins Suspension

Brembo brakes and Öhlins suspension round out the Scighera’s equipment. Together
with the custom frame and claimed low dry weight, these components reinforce the
project’s performance-oriented direction.

The appeal lies in the complete package: a recognizable Moto Guzzi engine, a bespoke
chassis, distinctive wheels, and established braking and suspension hardware. Each
contributes to a build that goes considerably further than a paint scheme and a
handful of accessories.

## Limited-Production Exclusivity

At the time of its announcement, Millepercento planned to offer the Scighera through
its Italian dealerships, with an anticipated price approaching €30,000. Those were
the original launch plans and pricing expectations, rather than a current availability
or price quotation.

The Scighera occupies an interesting space between a one-off custom and a conventional
production motorcycle. It preserves the mechanical identity that draws enthusiasts
to Moto Guzzi while giving it a more exclusive chassis and component package.

For riders and collectors interested in unusual Italian motorcycles, that combination
is the Scighera’s strongest attraction: familiar Guzzi engineering expressed through
Millepercento’s own vision.

# Saline Bird Concept: A Compressed-Air Motorcycle Inspired by Speed Skiing

### 󠀁[Saline Bird Concept Image Gallery](https://custommotorcycles.info/saline-bird-concept/#imagegallery)󠁿

The Saline Bird Concept approaches motorcycle design from an unusual direction:
compressed-air propulsion, a carbon-fiber frame, and a riding position inspired
by speed skiers. Conceived for Les Triplettes de Bonneville, the project explores
how a racing motorcycle could take shape when aerodynamics and an unconventional
power source guide its design.

Created by five students at ISD in Valenciennes, France, for their 2010–2011 final
project, the Saline Bird presents a distinctive vision of a purpose-built speed
machine.

## Three Air Tanks at the Heart of the Design

The proposed powertrain uses a compressed-air engine supplied by three tanks with
a combined capacity of 27 liters. Those tanks are central to the motorcycle’s layout,
making energy storage a defining part of its architecture.

The project identifies MDI as the engine partner, LUXFER as the air-tank partner,
and BRM among its technical collaborators.

This unusual propulsion system gives the Saline Bird a compelling engineering premise.
However, tank capacity alone does not establish range, power, or top speed. The
concept’s appeal rests on its proposed arrangement and design thinking rather than
documented performance figures.

## A Carbon-Fiber Frame Organizes the Machine

The Saline Bird’s design places its technical components on a carbon-fiber frame.
Instead of treating the chassis as something to conceal, the concept makes the supporting
structure part of the motorcycle’s identity.

Packaging an engine, three air tanks, and a rider creates a different set of design
priorities from those of a conventional motorcycle. The Saline Bird brings those
elements together around a focused racing brief, with the rider’s posture playing
an important role in the overall layout.

## A Riding Position Borrowed from Speed Skiing

One of the project’s most distinctive ideas is its speed-skier-inspired riding position.
The rider is intended to tuck tightly into the motorcycle, reducing the frontal
profile presented to the air.

That approach treats the rider and machine as a single aerodynamic shape. The motorcycle’s
proportions are therefore influenced as much by the human body as by its mechanical
components.

It also gives the Saline Bird a clear purpose. The proposed posture prioritizes
a compact racing tuck rather than the upright ergonomics associated with everyday
riding.

## Removable Leather Bodywork

The bodywork is another departure from convention. The designers proposed removable
leather sections in place of traditional rigid panels, creating a flexible outer
covering that could be fitted or removed.

The intention was to allow configurations for racing categories with or without
bodywork. Adaptability becomes part of the design itself, rather than requiring
an entirely separate exterior for each configuration.

This combination of a carbon-fiber structure and a flexible leather covering is
perhaps the project’s most memorable material choice. Each serves a different role:
one supports the machine, while the other changes its exterior form.

## A Proposed Road-Oriented Version

The designers also envisioned a road-oriented configuration using a different handlebar
arrangement. That proposal suggests how the riding position might be adapted beyond
the original racing brief, although a handlebar change alone would not establish
road legality or production readiness.

As a student concept, the Saline Bird is an exploration of possibilities. Its compressed-
air powertrain, aerodynamic posture, and removable bodywork make it an intriguing
example of motorcycle design built around a specific question: what happens when
the familiar engine-and-fuel-tank formula no longer dictates the shape of the bike?

## BMW K1600 by NURB

[View BMW K1600 by NURB Photo Gallery](https://custommotorcycles.info/bmw-k1600-by-nurb/#photogallery)

The Krugger NURB turns BMW’s high-tech K1600 into something radically more sculptural.
Its broad bodywork, exposed six-cylinder exhaust headers and enormous billet-style
wheels give the touring platform an almost futuristic custom silhouette, while the
retained engine keeps a direct link to the motorcycle beneath the redesign.

## A K1600 with almost nothing left untouched

Built by Belgian custom designer Fred “Krugger” Bertrand after a reported commission
from BMW France, the NURB was conceived as more than a cosmetic exercise. The project
retained the BMW engine and its complex electronic systems, but replaced the original
frame with a new chassis. A new swingarm and a substantially revised Duolever front
end followed, with the original shock absorber reportedly being the major suspension
component carried over.

That approach explains the bike’s unusually clean profile. The handlebars are low,
flat-track-inspired pieces rather than the elevated controls associated with a standard
K1600 GTL-style touring machine. The result is a long, low stance that visually
compresses the motorcycle and shifts attention toward its mechanical center.

## Freeing the engine for display

Relocating the radiators to the sides created open space around the front of the
engine. The six exhaust headers now sweep visibly beneath the chassis, turning what
is normally hidden engineering into one of the NURB’s strongest design features.
Their polished finish contrasts with the darker frame elements and makes the inline-
six layout immediately legible.

The bodywork is equally deliberate. A large upper shell flows into a long tail section,
with the seat tucked into the top of the form rather than treated as a separate
touring component. The reported twin-tank arrangement places one tank beneath the
seat and connects it to a secondary tank in the tail, whose separate filler is visible
in the streamlined rear section.

## Wheel scale changes the whole proportion

The custom wheels dominate the motorcycle visually. The reported 21-inch front and
20-inch rear diameters stretch the already long chassis, while their rounded, machined-
looking surfaces echo the smooth edges of the bodywork. Both ends use single-sided
arrangements, leaving the wheel centers and much of the surrounding hardware unusually
exposed.

In the supplied views, that combination of huge tires, narrow cockpit and polished
headers makes the NURB look closer to a rolling design study than a conventional
touring conversion. It is an especially bold answer to the question of what a K1600
can become when its original packaging is treated as negotiable.

### Braking and retained technology

Krugger reportedly fitted Beringer six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers
while working to integrate them with the BMW’s standard ABS system. That detail
matters: the NURB’s visual transformation is extensive, but the build was also shaped
by the need to preserve the donor motorcycle’s sophisticated electronics and safety
systems.

The Bomba Moto Guzzi takes the familiar transverse-twin silhouette and turns it
into a compact, hard-edged track-style machine. Its black bodywork, exposed cylinder
heads and sharply contrasting red fork legs give the bike a purposeful visual rhythm,
while the unusual mix of Moto Guzzi, Suzuki, Ducati and racing components keeps
the design from feeling like a routine café conversion.

## A focused chassis silhouette

The proportions do much of the work. The fuel tank sits low and broad over the engine,
the tail rises into a compact single-seat unit, and the front fairing wraps tightly
around the cockpit rather than hiding the entire motorcycle. That leaves the Guzzi’s
cylinders and polished exhaust headers on display—an important choice, since the
engine remains the visual centre of the build.

The supplied build notes attribute the work to Boris BormiParts and describe a shortened
original single-beam frame, revised alloy swingarm-pivot plates and a special boxed-
aluminium swingarm. The swingarm is reported to be 72 mm longer than the Daytona’s,
while the steering angle is listed as 24 degrees with a 1,430 mm wheelbase. These

## Parts chosen for function—and contrast

At the front, the bike is described as using 54 mm inverted forks with multi-adjustable
legs and four-piston Nissin radial calipers. In the supplied photographs, the red
fork tubes stand out against the otherwise restrained black-and-metal finish, and
the large front brake hardware reinforces the racer theme. Marchesini five-spoke
wheels continue that purposeful look; the notes also mention a modified rear wheel
to accommodate the transmission layout on the right.

The rear suspension is visible beneath the slim tail, with a yellow spring adding
another small flash of colour. Rather than burying the mechanical details under
bodywork, the design frames them: the silver swingarm, exposed linkage area and
compact exhaust system all remain easy to read from the side.

## A deliberately eclectic front end

One of the more unexpected choices is the front fairing, identified in the source
notes as coming from a Ducati 996. Its narrow screen and pointed upper edge give
the Bomba a sharper, more contemporary expression than the Guzzi engine might suggest.
The tank is reportedly based on a former Suzuki GSX-R item, modified to suit the
frame and the stripped-back tail.

The engine is listed as an MGS-01 unit. Along with the Guzzi badging and unmistakable
cylinder layout, it gives the motorcycle a strong connection to Moto Guzzi’s sporting
side without reproducing a factory design. The result is less a uniform period replica
than a carefully assembled racing interpretation, where every borrowed component
changes the bike’s stance and visual balance.

The Bott XR-1 takes the muscular core of a Buell and strips the surrounding motorcycle
back to a compact, sharply defined street tracker. Its white tank, exposed V-twin
and black structural sections create a deliberately simple silhouette, while the
custom steel spine chassis gives the Spanish-built machine an identity separate
from its donor.

## A Buell heart in a new chassis

Bottpower’s reported figures place the XR-1 at 100 bhp and 374 lb, numbers that
suit its lean, purposeful layout. The source describes the motorcycle as using a
Buell engine, wheels, brakes and suspension within the custom frame. Rather than
disguising those components, the design makes them part of the visual argument:
the engine sits prominently beneath the tank, and the swingarm and rear wheel remain
largely unobstructed.

The white fuel tank is unusually clean, with only the XR1 and Bottpower marks breaking
its smooth surface. Behind it, a slim single-seat tail rises into a pointed carbon-
fibre section. That tail gives the bike a race-inspired profile without adding a
bulky fairing or side bodywork.

## Flat-track attitude, modern hardware

The XR-1’s flat handlebar and compact proportions suggest the upright, direct stance
associated with flat-track machines. The broad front plate is more than a styling
flourish: it gives the otherwise open front end a strong visual focal point and
houses twin round lamps. A small, centrally mounted gauge keeps the cockpit restrained.

There is considerable contrast between the old-school outline and the detailed running
gear. The source lists the Buell 1125R’s eight-piston brake system, with ISR levers
for the front brake and clutch. An Öhlins rear shock is mounted visibly beneath
the tail, its gold reservoir adding one of the few bright colour accents to the
otherwise monochrome build. The black under-slung Torque Hammer exhaust keeps the
lower edge of the motorcycle visually tidy while leaving the engine and rear suspension
on display.

## Function shaping the finish

Carbon fibre appears in the tail and front bodywork, where its weave adds texture
against the gloss white tank and dark mechanical parts. The Easton handlebar, Motogadget
instrumentation and exposed control cables preserve the XR-1’s stripped-back character
rather than pushing it toward a fully faired sportbike.

Bottpower presented the XR-1 as a standalone motorcycle and also described a planned
kit for XB owners. Those plans belong to the project’s reported launch context;
the enduring appeal of the bike is the way it combines a familiar Buell mechanical
package with a much more focused chassis and visual language. It looks less like
a modified standard motorcycle than a deliberate re-edit of the street tracker idea.
